In September 2021, Apex Circuit Design were contracted by Mumbai Falcons Racing Limited (Client), to design a new motorsport destination, of which the crowning jewel will be an FIA Grade 2 Race Circuit. Capable of hosting all forms of four wheel motorsport other than Formula 1, the venue will provide a sporting and leisure destination of top tier international standard, solidifying India within the international motorsport community. As lead consultant, Apex appointed AECOM and ACG to co-develop engineering and architectural elements respectively.

The 45 Ha site, located in the South of India, is close to the major population centre of Coimbatore, and is approximately 2500km from the nation’s capital, New Delhi.

Central to the development is a 3.72km FIA Grade 2 facility that has been designed to combine high speed, flowing sequences with rapid elevation changes, resulting in a circuit that is challenging and exciting. Taking inspiration from more traditional European race circuits, the track will attract fans from every corner of the globe.

The pit building has 33 garages with event management offices, race control, timing and medical centre all contained within this single building. The second floor hospitality and large rooftop decks make the most of the building’s position, offering spectacular views of the racing.

The site also boasts another motorsport offering in the form of a 1.0 km FIA Karting licenced track.
