As the founder of Apex, Clive has become one of the worlds most recognised and respected race track designers.

His knowledge has helped guide developers through the process of land purchase, planning, project feasibility modelling, design, project and operational management.

With a career dedicated to motorsport and over 15 years of service at Apex, Dafydd serves as the Managing Director, leading a talented team of skilled engineers to consistently deliver projects to the highest standards.

Dafydd plays a crucial role in shaping the company’s strategy, identifying growth markets, and fostering long-term commercial relationships.

Jack joined Apex in 2013 after graduating with a first-class master’s degree in civil engineering. As an automotive racing enthusiast, Jack combines his passion with his education to seek stimulating, yet realistic, solutions to race circuit design.

Jack heads up our environmental strategy and was instrumental in gaining the highest 3-star award for the FIA Environmental Accreditation Programme.

Andrew joined Apex following roles within Balfour Beatty and Costain, delivering on large infrastructure projects across the UK including the £1billion London bridge project.

Andrew has a keen eye for construction detail and a real understanding of buildability which has led to him project managing the delivery of several of our projects.

James joined Apex in 2023 following a role in Highways and Infrastructure Design where he developed key transferable skills, preparing him for his journey into mastering all aspects of race circuit design.

James has a passion for cars, working for apex allows him to apply his Civil Engineering degree to projects he is thoroughly interested in.

James has followed motorsport from an early age which shaped his education, graduating with a Master’s Degree in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering.

James has a broad experience of computational modelling and is educated in vehicle dynamics from first principles. He will play a key role in the the development of our driver in loop and analytical simulation environments.

Reece joined Apex in July 2024 with a passion for motorsport and an interests in the circuit design field.

Reece is focused on developing our 3D driver-in-loop simulation capabilities, providing developers with a virtual insight into the future development.

Francisco joined Apex in 2024 for a year-long industry placement as part of his Aerospace Engineering course at the University of Bath. Throughout his time at Apex, he will engage in various aspects of the racetrack design process including the development of our Driver in Loop Simulation.

By the end of his placement, Francisco will have developed a versatile skill set that will benefit him in both the broader engineering industry and the specialized field of motorsport.

Bakr joined the team in 2024 for a year-long industry placement as part of his Civil Engineering course at the University of Bath. With a strong background in motorsport, Bakr will work alongside the team to develop his skills in motorsport destination design and expand his knowledge in project delivery.

Bakr's interests extend outside of just design and engineering and therefore he will assist in some of the commercial functions of the business helping to explore new opportunities.

Michael is a management consultant and has years of experience in managing , advising and owning businesses. His knowledge provides him the ability to identify, shape and lead organisations to positive and profitable growth.

Michael has been involved in motorsport for large parts of his career providing apex the visibility and physical presence within this well established market

Jiale, also known as JD, collaborated with Apex from 2014 to assist with the delivery of projects in the Chinese market, before joining officially in 2019 as Regional Manager, overseeing commercial sales and project delivery within China.

The relationships that he has built and his practical understanding of local best practise within the construction industry has proved effective in our ability to service this rapidly growing market.

Alongside Clive as one of the original founders of the company, James assisted in the creation of Apex Circuit Design in 2006 and sits on the board as a non-exec director.

James is a business lawyer and partner at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman. He acts as our legal counsel as well as being on hand to assist with advice on future growth of the business.

Perry assisted in the creation of Apex Circuit Design in 2006, is our Company Secretary and a non-executive director. Perry is the managing director of Bayliss Ware, a chartered accountancy firm.

He is responsible for our tax planning and compliance, our financial arrangements for overseas contracts and our annual company accounts.
